Reviews are one of the strongest signals for both Google and your future customers. A business with 40 reviews and a 4.8 rating builds instant trust — one with 3 scattered reviews doesn't. The good news: getting more reviews doesn't take pushiness, just a system.
1. Ask at the right moment
The best time to ask for a review is right after a customer has expressed satisfaction — right after finishing a service, delivering an order, closing a sale. Waiting days or weeks lets the moment cool off, and response rates drop sharply.
2. Make it as easy as possible
The more steps a customer has to take, the fewer reviews you'll get. Use a direct link to your Google Business profile (not just the business name) and share it via WhatsApp, SMS, or email — whatever's easiest for them to act on right then, from their phone.
3. Ask, don't demand
A simple line like "If you enjoyed the service, it would really help us if you shared it on Google" works better than offering discounts in exchange for reviews — Google penalises incentivised reviews if detected, and they also come across as less genuine.
4. Automate the reminder
Don't rely on remembering to ask every time. A simple automated message (email or WhatsApp), timed for a few hours after the service is completed, keeps the process consistent without extra effort on your part each time.
5. Always respond — good and bad
Responding to reviews — even negative ones, calmly and professionally — shows the business is attentive and active. This builds trust with anyone reading the reviews afterward, and it's another signal Google factors into your visibility.
